When it comes to food, I know many people
from experience have been very generous,
but I do not expect you to buy food for me or
even let me use your fridge.
I have owned two Jack Russels. Loved the first one, and when he passed, I got another of the same breed. They are territorial small dogs that love their freedom typically, so I learned to deal with aggression in small dogs before working my way up to the larger pitbulls and German Shepards. The second one has passed away now and I have been exclusively helping others with theirs up to this point. I have experience with hyper energetic dogs, sick dogs that need lots of daily medicine, and those that would scare many others sitters off.
I have over 6 years of experience with this and references. I found a way to value the job passed the pure monetary returns, and make this fit my lifestyle as someone who works largely online. Many other great sitters are here and gone before accumulating that long list of references.
The pets of course, but the nature of being paid with the experience of being in a new place. For regulars it is a home away from home, and with new clients, the housesitting offers a feeling of travel while still local.
