Pers are people too and taking care of them is not a chore for me. they have simple needs and just as we bring children in the works and take care of them, then same should be done for our precious fur babies.
I have a cat and a dog, the dog since I was 20. She will be 8 in November. I also help take care of my Grandmothers two dogs, who are my dogs siblings. All three dogs are Bichon Lhasa Apso. Lily, my dog, is a sweet heart who loves to flop on your, wherever, whenever. they all love to be talked to and given belly rubs. theybalso enjoy playing tag with the cat, who is a rescuw but undeterred by the dogs. She likes to follow them around and chase them as well. Lily loves to accompany on short car rides, walk the block or even just sit outdoors when the weather is nice. She sleeps wherever I am, as close to me as she can get.
Aside from the responsibility of having my own pets, I have watched the animals of many other families and always been well received, trusted and asked back. I have been trusted with cats and dogs ranging in age and have oversaw them for as little as three days or as long as a month. I treat them as my own and do my best to adhere to the schedule they are accustomed to. I am very attentive to their health and behaviors and any needs they have.
While there are times when our pest drives us nuts, I find that those moments are great for practicing patience and problem solving skills. Household pets are a product of their environment and so I try to keep things in check but entertaining amd stress-free, all of which are added bonuses for me. i enjoy the process of learning the personalities of different animals and adapting to those differing traits.
