Hi, my name is Sadie. I come from a family of pet owners and pet lovers. Growing up we always had pets and because of this, the importance of taking care of animals and loving them was instilled in me at a very young age. I have been dog-sitting and dog-boarding for 10+ years now, which I am beyond grateful for as it is continuous to be such joy and highlight in my husband’s and I’s life. I now own my own home, where I have created a comfortable, safe, and loving environment to ensure that your fur baby gets all the love and attention they deserve during their stay with me.
Sadly, the sweet fur babies that were members of my husband and I’s family are no longer with us, but I have loved and cared for animals, especially dogs, my entire life. I have had the responsibility of owning and caring for all different types of dogs with breeds ranging from a Chihuahua to an Irish Wolfhound.

I dog sit all different types of dogs regardless of their size or weight, breed, or age. I also have experience with and continue to dog sit the following types of dogs:
Unneutered male dogs
Female dogs that are in heat
Puppies who have yet to have all their shots
Puppies who are still potty training
Older more fragile dogs who require gentle care and extra supervision
Dogs who are deaf and/or blind
Dogs that do not socialize well with other dogs
Dogs who are shy/timid
Dogs that deal with separation anxiety from their owner
Dogs who require daily medication (I will only administer pills and liquid medication that call for oral administration)

I recognize how stressful it can be to find some1 to watch and care for your dog while you are away or on vacation. This is why I only ever watch/board 1 dog at a time (the only exception is if your dog has a sibling then of course I will watch both 6als, but I am only ever dog-sitting for 1 owner at a time). This ensures that your fur baby is getting ***% of the time, attention, and love they deserve. This also allows me to dog sit dogs that are great with people, but do not socialize particularly well with other dogs. Dog sitting truly is such a joy in my husband’s and I’s life, so your fur baby is sure to be showered in all the love and attention possible. All dogs are allowed on furniture and our bed unless requested otherwise by you. We have a creek and walking trails right outside of my home, making for super fun and stimulating walks for your dog (plus tons of new smells for you dog snif haha). Your doggy will be taken on 2 long walks per day, once in the cool of the morning and once in the cool of the evening. This is of course coupled with a bunch of shorter walks mixed in throughout the day all of which occur when your dog is being taken outside to go potty. We also have a very large fenced-off tennis court/recreational area that we have access to which is absolutely perfect for the any dogs who love to chase after their tennis ball and also dogs that love and prefer to run off leash. I work from home ***% of the time so some1 will always be there to love and tend to your fur baby. You are also sure to receive daily photo and video updates of how your dog is doing and what they are up to each day!
Every aspect of this job brings me as well as my husband tremendous joy (it honestly feels strange to even refer to my dog-sitting as work because I never actually feel like I’m working when I am dog-sitting)! More specifically though, I enjoy getting to have first-hand experiences with so many different dog breeds that I most likely would have never had the chance to interact with before. We also love the connections we form with the dogs we dogsit/board as well as their owners, it is especially fun and fulfilling with repeat clients since we start to see the dogs' entire personalities start to come through. Of all the happiness and enjoyment dog-sitting brings us, I would say that my husband and I get the most enjoyment from simply having the presence of a pet in our home. There is nothing like coming home to a loving animal who is over the moon to see you even if you were only gone for just a few minutes. It is true when they say animals, especially dogs, are extremely therapeutic! Whenever we are dog-sitting a dog the entire mood of our home experiences an increase. The simplest and smallest of actions such as playing with a dog, watching as a dog does something truly adorable, having a dog snuggle up next to you while watching TV, taking a dog on a walk, or even something as small as just petting a dog all increases the happiness, quality, and enjoyment of my husband and I’s everyday lives.

The number one thing I always try to do is treat any dog that stays with me how I would want my pet to be treated if I had my own. I believe that a huge driving factor for pet owners to use and pay for websites and companies such as this one to find pet boarders and sitters is that they don’t want to go board their pet while they are away knowing their dog will be spending the majority of its time in a kennel. Instead, I believe pet owners use companies like PetBacker so that while they are away or on vacation, their dog can continue, for the most part, their normal day-to-day routine and instead of being just one dog of the many being boarded at that time they are instead getting the comfort of being in a home with dog sitters who are caring for them and loving on them just as their own family would, while still having comforts from home. (Aka their bed, toys, treats, etc..) This concept is exactly what I strive to emulate and achieve with each dog stay I have. A main goal of mine is to try and alleviate as much worry as possible from the pet owner(s) by providing consistent updates of their doggy being loved, played with, fed, and exercised daily. Another main goal of mine is the happiness and contentment of each dog I am watching. All dogs' needs vary widely, but based on your dog's needs and wants it’s my goal to always keep your dog healthy, happy, loved, properly exercised, and most importantly comfortable! I want each owner I am dog-sitting for to be picking up and calm, relaxed, and happy dog. These main things are truly the backbone and what I strive for with each dog sittin***ook regardless if your doggy is staying with me for two months or two days.
