Since I was born I was always surrounded by animals, I grew with 2 dogs, a rabbit a hamster, fish and also did horse riding for 7 years. I was always around pets! Since my dog passed away in September, I miss the company of having a dog or just any pets around. Now that I moved out from my parents home and live alone as a student i realized i don’t have enough time to have my own dog as they are big commitments and responsibility. However, i still want to have some sort of relationship with animals so this is why I think I would be a great pet sitter!
When I was born my parents owned the sweetest Rottweiler that you could ever find. Dina died when I was about 8, a year later, we got a cute French bulldog called Trina. Trina was very stubborn but had a outstanding personality, she was small but had a big character, she was the boss at home! We brought her to the beach a lot near my house, to the dog parks near by and also to the forests that she absolutely loved! She also loved the beach but didn’t like to swim as much. Dina on the other hand loved to swim, they were very polar opposites, but we loved them both so much!
I have a full 19 year experience with dogs, and I like just a few minutes walk from the dog park and the bijburg beach! To be honest it’s the ideal location for a dog in Amsterdam!
It’s a relaxing, easy going work that I would enjoy doing in my free time. I appreciate being around pets, especially dogs, playing with them, cuddling them and grooming them too. Dogs are just like people, they actually have much more facial expressions than us and I find it fascinating how we can communication and understand dogs in this way.

I taught my dog Trina how to, sit, how to wait, give the paw, other paw, how to jump, how to stop at a side walk, lay down and lastly stop walking when I tell her to in the street. Believe me with a French bulldog it’s not easy, they’re very stubborn!
About Pets On Board!
Summary.
An overview of our day together would be, I would go on a morning walk to the dog park near my house, let the dogs socialize with eachother, and play for about half an hour. Then I would come home, wait 30 minutes before feeding and refreshing the water, in case they ran too much for safety reasons. Then around lunch time we would go out again for an hour walk this time and go all the way to the beach, depending on the type of dog and their preference we can do various activities such as swimming, playing with a tennis ball, running around etc. Once we get home if the pet needs to be groomed, especially after after a day out at the beach, for a long haired dog this would definitely be needed. At the end of the afternoon I usually need to do my groceries so I would bring the dog with me around the block for a little walk. Once I get home I will cook myself some dinner and feed the dog too of corse and refresh the water. 30 minutes later I will go for an evening walk, which means we will walk about 3 blocks and come back, and then we’re off to sleep.
